Hand-Turned Brush | Horizontal Fibre Orientation

This brush reorients the typical relationship between handle and bristles by positioning the Arena Fibre bundle horizontally, creating a tool suited to side-pulling, smoothing, and textural surface preparation. Turned from reclaimed oak, the handle is shaped to sit securely in the palm. The horizontal fibre arrangement produces broad, soft gradients or directional sweeping marks depending on pressure and angle. Equally suited for careful surface cleaning, clay, plaster, gesso, ink, dry pigment, wax, printmaking, and textile application. The fibres offers a responsive balance of spring and softness, making each brush a precise tool for both applying and removing material.

Particularly effective for general use and for surface levelling, wide texture work, or brushing slip in lateral bands.

Wood may show small evidence of its previous life before being reshaped.
